Woodbridge Men's Shed
A space for men to connect, create and converse
Woodbridge Rotary Club are in the process of establishing a Men’s Shed in the heart of the town to promote social inclusion for public benefit through the provision of a facility to encompasses the aims and objectives as shown below:

-
Particularly for, but not exclusively for, men at risk of being socially excluded
-
To prevent social exclusion by promoting the opportunity for friendships, social engagement and skill sharing in a safe and enjoyable environment
-
Meet and carry-on creative projects
-
To promote good health and wellbeing to its members

We are members of, and are following the ethos of the UK Men’s Sheds Association of which further details can be found at www.menssheds.org.uk

-
We have a piece of land in our sights which has been promised subject to the legalities of signing a lease.
-
We have money in the bank although we will need a lot more
-
We have interest from the community to join as members
-
We need to create a legal entity before we sign the lease
-
We need to embark on a fundraising campaign be it locally, nationally, from the public, organisations or applying for grants
But what we need now is YOU - yes, we need some willing volunteers from the community, representing interested organisations or merely representing yourself, willing and wanting to make a difference to the lives of others.

This is a community project, being delivered for the community in the community and needs be delivered by and on behalf of the community; we can’t deliver, and don’t really want to, on our own - we need community representation, people with new ideas, people with a little time on their hands, allowing you the opportunity to give a little back and be part of this exciting project.

We have come a long way since we started but we have a long way to go, you can see from the above we have some hurdles to jump and some hoops to climb through.
If you think you are one of those people who are willing to represent your organisation, or as an individual, have time on your hands to move this project forward, please contact me:

You can also email me at woodbridgemensshed@gmail.com leaving your details and we can then have an informal chat.
There are sheds popping up all over the UK, they have been created for a common purpose and really do work. They are informal meeting places, an opportunity for all to come together with a common purpose, run by the members for the members in exactly the way the members want them to be, but before we get to that stage we need those with the skills, ideas and a little time on their hands to get one up and running in Woodbridge.
